Carol (CJ) Bigsby is a Project Coordinator at the Center for Race, Inequality, and Social Equity Studies (CRISES) within Harvard’s Division of Social Science.
CJ holds a B.S. in Health Science from Boston University, where her interest in health education, racial equity, and healthcare accessibility bloomed. As a peer educator with Peer Health Exchange, she taught sex education to high school students in Boston public schools. As an Implementation Science Research Assistant with the HEALing Communities Study at Boston Medical Center, she continued to learn from community members by studying the work of coalitions that reduce deaths from opioid overdose. As a Medical Secretary at Tufts Family Medicine, she continued to deepen her understanding of individuals’ relationships with the American healthcare system. Her passion for community engagement and public health research has led her to CRISES, where she is excited to further their vision of an equitable society.
